About the Trail

The Aetna Mountain Trails are multi-use trails for mountain bikers, hikers, and trail runners that include a total of 4 miles. The trails take hikers through along the side of Aetna Mountain through a beautiful hardwood forest and past mountain streams. The system is divided into two loops: one beginner friendly green loop and one intermediate to advanced blue loop. The trail system is designed to allow for multi-use for bikers and hikers and a multi-directional flow of traffic. These first 4 miles represent only the first phase of the Aenta Mountain Trails; the TRGT is already at work planning for the second phase which will nearly double the trail system. At TRGT, we want our community to get outside on the trails. That is why we create and maintain public trails while also partnering with other organizations to improve access to trail systems in the Tennessee River Gorge. To help us continue this important work, please consider donating below.
